What is KundalinI Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga was designed to address the energy centers of the body.  While the practice itself can be physical,  it challenges the mind to expand awareness.  Some classes are more meditative while other classes incorporate more movement patterns. Each class will includes movement, meditation and mantra followed by savasana.  Overall, it is an excellent practice to enhance psychic abilities, intuition, clear energy and set energetic boundaries. 

What do I expect?

Classic Kundalini Yoga includes kyra sets, meditation with mantra and pranayama.  Mantras are generally in Gurmukhi. Traditionally, students and teachers wear while and a head covering, this is optional.  Sheep skins are often used in place of or addition to a yoga mat to cut the earths magnetic field, again this is optional. Please communicate any injuries and ask questions prior to class. All levels are welcome.  You are reminded to ground your energy following class. 


Sessions begin by tuning in with the Adi Mantra



This translates to, I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to Divine Teacher within. 


Classes close with the Mangala Charan Mantra

Ad Guray Nameh , Sat Guray Nameh, Siri Guru Devay Nameh.

This translates to; I bow to the primal wisdom. I bow to the wisdom through the ages, I bow to the true wisdom. I bow to the great unseen wisdom.  

My personal experience with the Kundalini Yoga, teacher training,  and White Tantric was positive, I know this has not been the case for all. Please note that I do not support, nor agree with all the teachings or behaviors of Yogi Bhajan.
